The London Eye

Today we had a few brief orientation meetings in the morning and then we were sent off to explore London on our own! Five other girls and I took the tube into Central London and experienced the most popular tourist attraction here, The London Eye. It is a giant ferris wheel (the second tallest in the world) situated on the Thames River opposite the Houses of Parliament. It was the perfect thing to do on our first day in the city because we were able to see amazing views of the whole city of London. Here are some views:

The London Eye! (next to County Hall)

Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament

Westminster Abbey right behind Big Ben

Buckingham Palace in the distance

The Thames River

Its me! I am actually here!

We took the tube for the first time today!

We ended our day watching the England vs. Algeria World Cup game at a local pub in the South Bank!
