Sunday in the City

250 elephants are on parade in London to raise awareness of the endangered Asian elephant.

This morning we ate breakfast across from Harrods department store. We didn't dare go in it today because of all the tourists and sale that is happening.

We watched the Changing of the Guards in front of Buckingham Palace.

The one that started it all! We ate here for lunch.

The National History Museum

The beautiful lobby of the museum.

The Aurora Collection: 296 naturally colored diamonds that took more than 25 years to collect. They glow under UV light.

The Devonshire Emerald: It is one of the biggest emeralds known. The 6th Duke of Devonshire acquired it in 1831. It has many flaws, which is why it escaped from being cut for jewelry. However, it was displayed at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851.

The sun came out in the afternoon so I took a little walk in Hyde Park across the street. This is Diana, Princess of Wales, Memorial Park and Fountain.

Mama swan and her ugly ducklings.

The Serpentine Lake

All the locals dance and exercise in their rollerblades throughout the park. There are even rollerblade exercise instructors!
